You know you should have family photos taken.
You skipped it three years ago because your daughter had braces.
Two years ago, you were determined to lose those last 10 pounds, and well...
Last year the family was so busy, there was no way you were going to get everyone together, let alone find outfits and figure out where to go for the photos. Besides, family photos always make everyone cranky (especially your husband) and it's just not worth the hassle.
Right?
Let me tell you a little secret. Move a little closer to the screen...
You're never going to be sorry that you had family photos taken.
Believe me, I've heard all the reasons not to do it. I've actually uttered all the reasons not to do it! And I'm a photographer!
But, I'm also a daughter. And I know that when my mom suddenly passed away when I was 26 years old, the thing I was the most grateful for was that we'd had family photos taken the week before she died. We had a recent record of our family and our relationships and our love for each other.
My biggest regret after my mom died? I could only find three photos of my mom and I together.
Three.
In twenty-six years.
And now I'm a mom. Though I'm temped to hide behind the camera and not get in photos with my family, I take a deep breath and get in the picture.
Because my kids need to see me in photos with them. They need a witness and a record of how I feel about them.
Because time goes by so quickly. And when our kids are older and it doesn't feel like they're changing that much, they ARE.
And here's one more secret - getting a family photo you love isn't as hard as you think.
I specialize in easy-going, fun family portrait sessions that capture the faces and the unique personalities of your people. We schedule the photo session someplace meaningful to your family - whether that's your home, or the park down the street where you go on bike rides together.
I can coax a real smile out of your robot-cheese-smiling seven year old, and as a former middle school music teacher, I speak fluent tween and teenager.
I can even make your husband utter these magical words at the end of a photo session - "Well, that wasn't so bad..."
If you're ready to make this the YEAR OF THE FAMILY PHOTO, I'd be honored to have the opportunity to capture your family. You can view recent sessions, including full portfolio galleries by clicking here, and you can find my contact and pricing information here.
