If you have a school-aged child, pick up a copy of the annual Education and Enrichment Guide on stands now! This free publication covers schools throughout the entire Bay Area, including East Bay, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties. Look for it in all libraries, schools, and even online. The cover features the lovely Miss Analisa, who is the daughter of my mom’s co-worker. Did you follow that? We shot these photos in a class room at West Elementary School in Hillsborough. It was definitely a shock to me to learn that chalkboards no longer exist! No more dusty chalk! Remember that once-a-week task of sending the delegated eraser monitor to clean off those funky erasers? Now all schools are equipped with electronic SmartBoards. It’s an incredibly cool digital chalkboard. Students can answer math, science and grammar questions with hand-held devices that allow their teachers to immediately see who got it right. Whoa. Someone please welcome me to the 21st century.
I had so much fun photographing Analisa for the cover and was delighted that her mom asked me to take a few photos of Analisa and her younger sister, Angelina immediately after this shoot. Fortunately, we got more than a few…more like 80 great photos of the beautiful sisters. They were having so much fun and I’m so glad that I was able to capture their bond and love for each other. See those photos here.
Here’s the cover:
