In the last 10 months, I’ve been blessed beyond measure at the success of my new photography business. Truly blessed by the amazing opportunities I’ve been given, the friends I’ve made, and the wonderful family, friends and clients who continue to cheer me on. Because of them, I’ve been wanting to find a way to give back to my community. I searched high and low for ways and finally came across a national charitable organization called Pictures of Hope. I loved their mission: to provide complimentary photography sessions to any family with a child in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I sent in my application and many months later, I’m happy to share that I’ve received acceptance as a participating member of their organization.
Time spent in the NICU is often an unexpected journey for families, a journey with many overwhelming emotions…sadness, confusion, hope, celebration, and unfortunately, sometimes grief. Throughout this rollercoaster of emotions, many parents don’t consider the importance of documenting these precious moments in their lives nor do they think about how much they will truly cherish these images years down the road. It’s my hope to provide these families with beautiful images they will always cherish.

What is provided?
Families with a child in the NICU would receive a complimentary photo session, using the available light in each room, and would receive a complimentary set of 4×6 images from the session (approx. 25). Upon request, images could also be posted to a private online gallery to share with family and friends who are unable to visit. Sessions can take place immediately upon entering the NICU or parents may opt to wait until closer to their dismissal date. Each session is accommodated to the needs of each individual baby. There are absolutely no pre-qualifications or fees for the services provided by Pictures of Hope photographers, any family with a child in the NICU qualifies, at any hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you or someone you know currently has a child in the NICU, please call me at (415) 812-4563 to set up a time for your complimentary photo session.
I have two kids of my own and I’ve been fortunate enough not to have experienced what it’s like to have a child in the NICU, but if I did I know for sure I would treasure photographs of the time spent. I hope you’ll work with me to support and encourage these services, as well as help share information and spread the word about the Pictures of Hope Foundation. I am more than happy to answer any additional questions you might have, and I encourage you to visit the Pictures of Hope website at www.picturesofhopefoundation.org for more information. I can be reached at (415) 812-4563 or kim@superkimagery.com.
